Why not make Banana's and ice cream proportionate to income too , oh thats right, its completely unfair. I recall another story like this one from a couple of years ago.

That's the law in that land, that's the punishment for breaking the law in that land. Some countries cut off the hands of thieves. Some countries even execute drug runners.

If Banana's and Ice Cream were forms of punishment then yes, why not?

Wonder what the jail time is for someone who steals that has had a good education and upbringing compared to someone who has lived on the streets most of their life? The guy would have to be a multi millonaire to get a fine like that, only 14mph over too. crazy

The dude is a slow learner though. Reading the article, it is his second big tickect, mind you he is getting better, he was slower this time so hasn't had to pay so much.

Yeah just read the article again, I think Finland has quite a low tax rate so could be a way of getting taxes?

disagree with ya there bud.
punishment for breaking the law is supposed to discourage the behaviour you have been caught for. an $80 fine going to discourage a millionaire the same way it discourages a single income family with 2 kids on minimum wage?

Try buying a drink there, it is expensive, I lived there for 3 months, beautiful people and place, but not that well off.

Average wages on-par or above Germany, Netherlands, not bad, great schools and hospitals, among the best, about 50% tax.
I stand by my call, it costs to be cold, like $3000 a year for heating oil, and whole towns water heated pipes. The chart says 10% less than Germany or the Netherlands.

Must be a Leftie Government. sort of silly thing Labour would do.

In Holland, the car can be confiscated permanently and that's just what happened a few weeks back when a 20-year old who had borrowed his dad's car, was booked for doing double the speed limit ??
