What rubbish, I think its you and the other doubters and cynics here who should do some research.
It did happen and they just sold at $28.5 million USD. Only a few cars were worth serious money, but it did happen, was discovered last year, and recently sold as reported by many reputable experts motoring journos.

Wow. The facel vega is my favourite there. Though the cortina might fetch . Well not much really.
Anyway thanks for the link, ignore the ill informed sofa cynics, it's a real story and good reading, even if mail did, as usual, rather hype up the prices.

Was the Bugatti bought by a Hamilton collector for $500,000 from that same location? (See today's Herald.)

rsr72, Feb 12, 8:23am
Yep, it was, and the 250 GT California sold for $21.5 million.

I smell a bit of a rat in that story. The Ferrari California photographed "in a shed under piles of newspapers" seems to be sitting on a correctly inflated set of tyres - as does the Maserati parked next to it.

These stories crop up from time to time and are usually proved to be false.

The car pictured with jane fonda sitting in it, doesn't even have the same wheels as the so called barnbfind

solarboy, Dec 7, 9:26pm
I missed that picture then. The wheels weren't visible in the only picture I saw that showed her sitting in the car . Photo taken from straight behind the car.

Sacrilege seeing cars like those going to rack and ruin like those ones are, strewth there's millions of dollars worth that could be made millions more.
Some mighty rare stuff there alright?

tgray, Dec 8, 8:01am
Look how mint that Ferrari appears in the second pic.
A pile of magazines sitting on it wouldn't have worked that well!

intrade, Dec 8, 8:18am
first thing i noticed is the tyre they could have at least deflated the front tyre to make it more realistic , cars sitting for more then 5 years get flat tyres at least 1 will be flat. so poor attempt on them newspaper covered cars
also i can show you how much dust is on my mk1 golf downstairs where its not covered . the newspaper where put on it 30 minutes befor the photo was taken. my golf is down there since 4 years or so and looks more realistic of a barn find then them black ferraris

bashfulbro, Dec 8, 9:56am
Very poor research has been put into this by Yahoo News, it`s interesting, this very same story has been doing the email rounds for several years now, it is, really old news.

Jane Fonda looked very nice way back then.

tgray, Dec 8, 6:01pm
So did Grace Kelly.
They say that time is a lousy beautician.

mm12345, Dec 8, 7:11pm
Jane Fonda at about 77 ( in a week or so) seems quite well preserved. Not sure how much restoration work's been done though.

I've got cars that have been sitting for over 10 years that still have inflated tyres.

socram, Dec 8, 8:45pm
My project car is now well through year 10 and the tyres have been on it around 8 years and are still inflated - but the car has been mobile for a fair while and has not just been sitting.
