Please excuse me if this is the millionth time a thread has been started here asking the same. (Post links to previous threads if it is).

fordcrzy, Jun 22, 1:32pm

For what price?

nightboss, Jun 22, 3:07pm
Price is not an issue, picture quality is, both day and night.

Uniden igo750 seems reasonable. Only had it a month though. Bought from Repco, $239, now at $199! Typical! Can't complain.

quite a few reveiw sites around with fotage.
blackvue are good quality but not cheap.

also depends on what other features you need or like to have.

I have used one of these for several months, model DR600.
Works ok, small and discrete hiding behind mirror.
Sun position makes reading number plates easy or near impossible but that would be same with all brands.

How about a GoPro? They have a 4K model, that would be way better than the $120 one I bought from Dick Smith that was a POS

not hard to google mobius or techmoan. do i have to link to the "shall i google that for you" webpage? like i said go and look at techmoan. theres no point in buying a cheap dash cam if you cant identify a plate number from it.

FROM TECHMOAN
So back to dashcams, I've only tested a tiny proportion of the models currently on sale. from those, here are my personal favourites.

Tiny camera without a screen - The Mobius.

Cheapest camera that works - The G1W (look to get a G1W-C to avoid battery failure).

Odd shaped camera that hides well at the top of a windscreen - The A118.

Expensive, excellent but large camera with top notch video - Vico Marcus 4.

Front & Rear Unhidden Camera with dual 1080p recording - Vico Marcus 5.

Front & Rear dual 1080p Camera with a hidden recorder unit - K1S.

looks like the g1w is what you need

I decided to go with the transcend, 120 dollars or so n special. I didn't want GPS, just wanted wide angle which many don't have

A big part of the quality in the video is the frame rate. 60fps gives a much clearer picture than 30fps. Even if you have to reduce to 720p to get the higher frame rate.
