Absolutely brilliant !
If only they'd been carrying a stick or ball with them and then the NZ sports media would give it the head-lines it deserves.

I couldn't agree with you more. The NZ public has lost almost all interest in motorsport at all levels.

I am a huge fan of Earl and his driving skills. Given his high podium % to races entered its no wonder he is currently ranked as the 38th best driver in the world on the DriversDB rankings.
Well done Earl.

As well Haydon Paddon coming second in the WRC Italy, New Zealand has to be proud of our motor racing boys.

Funny how it's been mentioned that Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon won in 1966, (and they did it as a two man team back then) What has been omitted is that Denny Hulme was Co-driving in the second placed car with the No.1 driver Ken Miles, which incidentally was in front and should have won, but trying to stage a photo finish backfired coz the timing strips were 50 meters short of the finish line and they cocked it all up, giving Bruce the glory. Bugga. But there were 3 Kiwi's on the podium that day. The third placed car was also a GT40, about 100 miles behind. But that was also tucked in behind at the line.

,, I think the standard of driving reflects this. Absolutely no knowledge or care of correct driving lines , merging , smooth cornering etc etc , and the bloody police (Govt.) have no interest in getting the actual driving STANDARD of us all improved.
