Cruise control? I see some do but many don't. When I put "cruise control" in keywords they all the Mark Xs come up but it's rarely mentioned in any auction as having cruise.
Also are they known as X or Ten?
Cheers

kazbanz, Jan 18, 2:09pm
gunny--do you mean the sedan or wagon---if the sedan then the 2.5l ones don't and its a specific model of the 3.5's that do.--tomorrow I'll look it up for you. as far as I'm aware its pronounced mark X

gunhand, Jan 18, 2:14pm
Thanks. seems odd that such a high spec car dosn't have it across the range.
Sedan most likely but a wagon would be worth a look too.

kazbanz, Jan 18, 2:29pm
sedan and wagon are based on different platforms.Wagon is sorta an ipsum and sedan a camry. --have you looked at the camry?

gunhand, Jan 18, 2:36pm
Oh ok, know what ones ya mean now.
Hopeing to look at some next weekend all going well. And will look at the Aurion as well.

Radar cruise control was a factory option available only on the Mark X 3.0 Premium model (2005-2009). As it was an expensive option and also there were far less 3.0 Premium models sold than 2.5 models, cruise control is quite rare.

lookoutas, Jan 18, 4:36pm
Hey gun - ask the turkey selling it.

Bit dumb tho, if it's got it, and they don't list it.

gunhand, Jan 18, 4:39pm
Ive just been looking again and found only two that say cruise control in the options list, and one is radar cruise control. Its just annoying that you type in a key word in the search area and shitloads come up but none appear to actually have CC. Why have keywords when it don't work TM, huh?

smac, Jan 18, 4:44pm
Got an example? I just searched Toyota Mark-X's, with keywords of "cruise control" and the first 5 I checked all show cruise. ?

gunhand, Jan 18, 4:47pm
I see that lol, but some are out of my price range bar 3) and some are also the wagon version.
Now thats interesting cause when I tried the same thing yesterday i got pages of them.
I'll blame something, not sure what.

smac, Jan 18, 4:50pm
Ya I know, but do you have an example where it's a positive hit, but no cruise? Just wondering cause I was having some issues with vehicle search last week, and wondering if it's related. From memory though my problem was it was ignoring model.

gunhand, Jan 18, 4:53pm
No idea, but I got all excited thinking they all have it lol. I got sick of reading discriptions over and over in case i'd missed it.

subarist, Jan 18, 5:03pm
For the 2005-2009 sedans, you can see the radar device for the cruise control in the middle of the dummy air vent (driver's side) at the bottom of the front bumper. The air vent looks like three separate vents, where on the models without the radar cruise control, the air vent looks like a single vent and the same as the air vent on the passenger's side.

Irreverant but. the Japanese pronounce it "Mark X" not "Ten". Interesting, considering the model replaced (amongst other badges) the "Mark II" which was pronounced "Mark Two". (said with Japanese accent. )

For the 2.5's - no cruise. For the 3.0 litre GRX121 model - none in the G Sports Package or 300G, but was available as an option on the 300G Premium if the owner requested it when they bought it. For the newer GRX133 models (the 3.5 sedans) - optional on the Premium, none on the 350S usually (but was on some I gather), and standard on the Premium L Package. It's a real pain when buying them in Japan if you want C/C, as you virtually have to check on just about every car, as the majority of them don't seem to have it, and it's easy to assume that they have it and then find out that they don't. For the 3.5 Mark X Zio wagons, basically the 350S model doesn't seem to have it, but the 350G has it as an option from about 2008-2011 and then seems to be standard from 2011 onwards. Once again, you virtually have to check each and every car to avoid unwanted surprises on C/C fitment.

OP, I knew you wouldn't be an Aucklander, as cruise control is something we rarely get to use.

kazbanz, Jan 21, 5:07pm
sorry gunny-I got sidetracked.--basicly the last line kimbo posted seems to cover it off -check each car

vtecintegra, Jan 21, 5:28pm
It's actually quite a rare option on a lot of otherwise high spec Japanese market models - I was looking at 3.5 Blades, turbo Axelas and V36 Skylines and most of them also lacked cruise

Guess it isn't considered as useful in Japan

gunhand, Jan 21, 6:24pm
Thanks all, yea it does seem looking is the best way.
I gave the wife a list of 4 cars on my watchlist and asked her to put them in order of preference, it went like this
06 Accord, Nz new, V6, 6 airbags etc etc, nice car actually.
03 Lexsus E300
04 NZ Camry , eeek, Very tidy but plain and boring inside
05 Mark X, Only rated last cause there were no more to rate LOL.
But what would they know?

kazbanz, Jan 22, 6:38am
are these all wagons or sedans gunny

kimbo88, Jan 22, 6:41am
It's easy to work out on the Blade 3.5's thankfully - the Master G model has got the radar cruise fitted as standard equipment, while the Master (NON G model) doesn't have cruise at all. The radar cruise on the Master G is really good to use - maintains distance on the cars ahead very well indeed. Of course you still need the brain switched on and be situationally aware, but compared to the non-radar cruise it is a pleasure to use.

vtecintegra, Jan 22, 7:15am
The only problem with that is that a lot of non-G models are advertised as 'G' (or at least were when I was looking last year)

kimbo88, Jan 22, 7:25am
You're right vtecintegra - I've noticed that. A lot of advertisers seem to put them up as G's when they're not. If they have got photos up, the non G models don't have leather at all, and the G's only have leather - it's another way to sort them out if the interior is shown in the pics at all.

gunhand, Jan 22, 3:27pm
all sedans.

kazbanz, Jan 22, 3:37pm
Ok gunny--try the 07 accord 2.4 sedan--that has cruise.
Also the 06 camry 2.4 -that has cruise
The specific two I can see do anyways
