Not exactly motoring but car related. Yesterday I discovered what I thought was shill bidding on two auctions (not mine btw). I posted a thread here to see what you guys thought & the first few replies agreed it was obviously shill bidding. I also reported it to trademe via the relisted auctions & asked a polite question as to why no negative feedback on a seller who did not follow through & why the seller was bidding on the past auction winners auction also. So it appesrs that Trademe removed the post regarding this, and also my polite question off the auction. but why? Do they not take shill bidding seriously?

The question on the auction is auction sabotage so the seller would be quite justified in asking trademe to remove it. You should have left it at reporting the issue to trademe and letting them decide. Making allegations in the questions is bad form. And do you really have conclusive evidence of shill bidding, making accusations in a public forum is really not on.

I simply asked the opinion of people here & like I say the replies I seen were overwhelmingly in agreeance, so I then reported it. But yes I guess the question could have been seen as sabotage (although wasn't intended that way)

petal-I agree re putting a comment on the auction. But commenting on here I don't agree in that specific case it was a blatant case of shill bidding. or to rephrase -2 blatant cases of shill bidding. the people concerned were bidding on each others auctions. Mind you-theres another reason TM might be deleting reference to it--to avoid tipping the culprits off

I looked at those auctions last night, and noticed that they had traded with each other in the past as well. And I've just noticed one of them appears to have had his account disabled.
