This is a NZ new Mazda 3 15oocc DOHC auto EFI. As above. A/C is switched OFF. No air locks in cooling system. When I disconnect the Temp sensor plug the fans stop. does this mean the senor switch is faulty? I cannot find any other radiator switches.

faulty sensor. it may have a code stored but not enough to create check engine light. Might be able to get one from pick a part to swap out?
the ect? i dont know the wiring if its the same as on the golf mazda are a nightmare for information and parts. naigbour put all 4 in the crusher same make model 626 mazda and not 1 part from the other 3 would fit his. has it got 3 pins?

Yes it is a Familia. what threw me was the English fuse cover under the bonnet.

coolant will come out make sure to get the right sensor. you might have to find one at pickapart. . or europe for mazda parts . coolant will come out if you remove it and you need to make sure no air in system after replace so make sure its the right one befor you unscrew it.

old ones you can probably bridge the pins with a paper clip on wire harness to see if fan turns on . look at instructions on vw most probably the same function that sensor does as in the mk3 golf My fiat tipo has also got the 3 pin high low fan speed sensor in radiator

Cheers Intrade. I am thinking the switch may be ok as I have found that the A/C pump is engaging shortly after start up thus operating both fans. I think maybe a relay is jammed on. Your views?

wiring diagram the only one whom could know the circuit is big. mat he could have been working on one and remember in his head how it functions . does the ac compressor turn on also when fan runs? do you know how to check that if its on? i had my mates volvo ac always on and that was years ago when i did not know anything about this stuff so just unplugged the ac clutch wire plug

it could be a wire in a harness grounding out turning on the ac and its fans , most stuff on old cars is ground side controlled. newer cars have more power side controlled stuff but not a 90s car

Well to report that I replaced the Temp sensor and all fixed.
