Holy - I sold one a few years back for $700. Was a 4 door, but as mint. And the trafficators worked!

Export it to Japan, they love those english cars and pay good money for them. They might even send you over a toyota as payment.

If it isn't currently complete and running, it is a hell of a gamble. "Putting it back together" and getting it professionally painted and road legal - particularly if the registration has lapsed, may be more of a mission than you'd think. Are ALL the parts there, all interior trim etc?
I'd think hundreds rather than thousands. Generally a car that was cheap when new, can cost more than it is worth to restore to a high standard. However, doing without a professional paint and just creating a runner may be economical. The A35 is a much better car.

Yep socram, I agree. I'm an old Austin (and later BMC) mechanic. Worked on many of these wee cars, so the sight of those screws holding the inner door panels on put me right off. And yes, the A35 was a sweety!

With a complete wire up of my project car, it isn't the 60 year old Lucas stuff that is playing up. It is one of the brand new modern '10 spade' fuse blocks! The first item that gets junked after a 10 year build with just 100kms on the clock. The Lucas stuff stays.

Chinese /Taiwanese copy? Lot of the Moss parts were becoming Chinese /Taiwanese copies- very similar not the same and definitely not the same quality.
Is it just me or does that paint work look a bit rough around the edges.

Simple enough build car & so long as was registered in Nz pre 1990 it will just require revinned & a more intensive WOF check . Do as much yourself more satisfaction . . Ugly car even in its day but still see few around .

Who was the famous ex car racer who loved his A30 van and used it to turn up at barley mow? Told eion it was best car as it was fun trying to drive it fast enough for modern traffic. Can't be James's hunt?
