Leaving a gap in traffic.

urbanrefugee54, Mar 16, 11:05am
twice now I've been turning right from Chalmers St [Hornby Mall Side entrance] & have left a gap for traffic coming towards me [my light was on red] to get across & turn into the mall carpark - only have to the car from just behind me jump come in front of me, jumping the queue I was sooo annoyed with the woman that did it yesterday that I made her panic & regret blocking the gap. plus my bull bar was really close to her drivers door.
I my opinion the entrance needs yellow cross hatching across that area - is that council or police or mall?

Or people just need to read their road code and should be fined for blocking intersections!

na they got a wof thats all there servicing ther cars need and they dont need to think they got abs esp 100 airbags and so on so all you need to do is put a brik on the gas and close your eyes when driving , since thats what the tv ads seem to teach these morons

thing is if they were the ones trying to turn into the mall car park - they would feel annoyed to be blocked by idiots.

is a mall entrance classed as a 'intersection'?

petal_91, Mar 16, 11:32am
It is just a turn off to the mall not a proper intersection. The mall shoppers can wait.

WHAT IS AN INTERSECTION?

An intersection is where two or more streets or roads join or cross. Intersections can include where a public entrance or exit joins a street or road.

Intersections can include entrances to and exits from supermarkets, petrol stations and other public parking areas, such as airports and hospitals. There are a number of different types of intersections, depending on how many roads meet at the intersection.

Any further questions?

thank you - concise & to the point. BUT? does it fall under: mall security - police? or council?

henderson_guy, Mar 16, 12:52pm
I would think it would be council, in consultation with the mall

bitsy_boffin, Mar 16, 12:53pm
Roading in cities and towns is generally the council responsibility.

That intersection is pretty crap at peak times. It is also equally annoying when the car exiting the carpark decides to poke their nose out, blocking off left turning traffic that want to head east on Main South Road.

urbanrefugee54, Mar 17, 5:41pm
I know. they have changed the intersection both sides so a separate lane for turning now. but due to cars dawdling towards the mall - sometimes you can't even get through.

Did you take her keys off her?
