So far, in this holiday period

saxman99, Dec 27, 7:52am
Deaths from drowning stand at 400% of deaths from motor vehicle accidents.

I think we should ban swimming, and all other forms of water-based recreation activities.

daryl14, Dec 27, 8:20am
Tax the beach users at 400% of the roads? Same logic so should help right?

whqqsh, Dec 27, 8:37am
rego stickers on togs & no one allowed to go over the depth limit of 1 metre. oh thats right, its easier to take money off motorists

Statistics. Take what you want - in isolation!

What is the old saying? "There are lies, damned lies and statistics. "

Three or four years ago, it was a spate of railway crossing accidents.

Reminds me of years and years ago when Scouts & Guides started doing more joint activities. Scouts just went in the sea and swam. The Guides had to have at least one qualified lifesaver - who wasn't allowed in the water - plus about three miles of rope, a helicopter on standby, flares, and a radio telephone at the ready. (I may have exaggerated just a little.)

Probably lots of people died of old age over the holidays too.
Need to ban something here too.

toyboy3, Dec 27, 9:51am
The cause there , is too many birthdays . Ban birthdays

socram, Dec 27, 11:00am
. unless you were born Feb 29th, though you'd die young.

Keep well away from hospitals and particularly hospices.

elect70, Dec 27, 2:40pm
fence off the rivers & beaches & home pools no deeper than 500 mm ____ At primary school we were all made to learn to swim &had to do at least a length of the pool . But in todays school its not compulsory .

rema, Dec 27, 6:54pm
yes well on hospices whilst they do a dam good job lots of people seem to die there

gammelvind, Dec 27, 7:00pm
Plus many schools no longer have access to a pool, too many health and safety rules plus maintenance costs.

sw20, Dec 27, 7:04pm
Logan's Run will solve that

purple666, Dec 27, 7:12pm
Must have been swimming to fast.

tigertim20, Dec 27, 8:25pm
they must have been swimming too fast and drowned after getting tired . . .

bill1451, Dec 29, 7:03pm
And while they are at it, ban bath plugs, spa baths, water races, lakes, oceans
(Maybe fence the last 2 off) rather than ban powered boats, just make it illegal to put petrolin the tank, nah forget that, just ban human life,

trogedon, Dec 29, 7:06pm
Crossed the lane into oncoming breaststrokers (which gives me an idea. )

socram, Dec 29, 7:16pm
You'll get arrested for that.

aktow, Dec 29, 11:38pm

whqqsh, Dec 30, 3:45am
