If you contact Ian Curry on Monday here at Turners Christchurch we will be more than happy to help. Thanks

headcat, Jan 17, 8:45pm
You mean there are two of us left?

gubay, Jan 18, 6:25pm
No, there are three of us.

poppajn, Jan 18, 6:55pm
Well you can't do better than this.

cossy5, Jan 21, 3:29am
What happened? Did you go back to Turners as advised ?

woki, Jan 21, 9:03am
My personal experience with Turners is they wont want to know about it . Horrid firm to deal with :(

tigra, Jan 21, 12:45pm
Well #22 suggests otherwise. Hope OP follows it up.

teresachch, Jan 15, 7:41pm
I brought a car from turners yesterday for a buy now price (not auction) so today we went to hamner and noticed the wof runs out in 2 months ( my fault for not checking I guess) but i thought they had to be within 28 days of getting a wof? Any way tonight driving back I get a flat tyre and when we change it with the spare we notice the tyre is that worn that you can see the wire also 1 headlight isn't working, do they have to fix these things? It wasn't cheap I spent 8 grand on it Tia

msigg, Jan 15, 7:43pm
Just call them up and tell them your story, see what comes of it.

robotnik, Jan 15, 7:45pm
The vehicle needs to be of acceptable quality under the Consumer Guarantees Act, so go to the dealer and have the faults rectified by them.

jmma, Jan 15, 7:45pm
So you didn't have a pre purchase check done on it?
I would suggest that you ask them, at least about the WOF
Headlight can blow at any time, but will be covered in the WOF

a.woodrow, Jan 15, 8:22pm
Hang on, if something fails after you buy it then fine, but if you buy something with issues, you can't use the CGA to rebuild it. CGA is for faults that develop after you buy something

a.woodrow, Jan 15, 8:35pm
For all we know the price paid could be reflective of the condition and quality of the vehicle

howie69, Jan 16, 7:25am
Have you tried this sensible advice?

skull, Jan 16, 2:32pm
They probably want to know what their rights are before contacting Turners.

msigg, Jan 16, 3:34pm
howie69, no I haven't been in that situation, I do my own checks and if I buy a lemon then I would wear it, I'm not from this new age where you take things back, I'm buyer beware and so be it. Personal responsibility. Never had a problem. But yea unless they make some sort of contact then they will not know where they stand.

intrade, Jan 16, 3:52pm
turners are covered under consumer guarantees act no dealer can contract out of consumer guarantee. If i was you i be asking for a refund if they prefer that as you probably own a neglected pile of junk they sold you by the stuff you just mention. 28 day wof yes its a must for all dealers and turners are a dealer . kaz would know better and if i made some mistake in my write up facts.

intrade, Jan 16, 3:58pm
turners are bragging with it them selfs
http://www.turners.co.nz/Important-Consumer-Law-Changes/
i dont know how true that info is that they make on there own website. you would have to look at the governments laws as that is what holds up in court.
from there site copy pasted

Don't forget, all cars purchased through Buy Now are covered by the CGA.

tony461, Jan 16, 4:15pm
So, you've had a flat tyre, that will need replacing, and possibly a failed bulb, which could have popped after you took delivery. Aren't these just maintenance issues. If their listing descriptions have been misleading, then approach them with your concerns. If not, and you generally like the car, just get these done and move on.

intrade, Jan 16, 4:30pm
tony461 the 28 day wof is a must for any seller unless he contracts out of consumer guarantees act. dealers cant contract out of consumer gauarantee and buy now is cga as per turners bragging page. fact is they must obey the law its not a option they have choosen to bring to you as they make it out to be.

ozz1, Jan 16, 4:30pm
re headlite. no they dont have to fix it. but if goodwill. then they might. as for spare tyre. YES they will have to remedy that.

mrfxit, Jan 16, 4:44pm
Spare tyre, NO.
Condition or even the existence of a spare wheel has nothing to do with a wof.

The wheels ON the car, yes

planted4u, Jan 16, 4:47pm
Fool

tony461, Jan 16, 4:49pm
Interesting. I didn't really note the use of buy and its relevance to CGA. I still don't fully understand it anyway.

If the listing states, warrant to Feb and one tyre bad, are they forced to issue a new wof and replace the tyre because you hit the auction Buy Now?

Even if they omitted mention of those, isn't it up to the buyer to inspect before purchase?

kazbanz, Jan 16, 8:19pm
what were the terms and conditions of sale?
