The dacia is totaled now about 5 year old base model 1.2 no aircon no powersteer no radio no nothing to go faulty. it probably has now 45 to 50 tousend km on it but its totaled my brother drove up somones ass full cover 4500 bux payout of the 9 grand it cost brand new . Things that went wrong with it was only 1 item indicator stalk had gone faulty 350$ to repair was the only repair bill it had since new from 2010. only other thing i noticed whas ignition key sticking in start position one time , so its the end for how good these are. Also its not the new shape the new sandero has more junk i think my brother is looking for another secoundhand with the payout money said to my dad to tell him dont buy one with loads of crap we only got that car because it has 0 crap added to start with.

I have a 2004 Toyota Prado VX with 250,000km and electronic everything and lots of computers and it has had nothing at all ever go wrong, not even an indicator stalk.
Got 7 other newer vehicles in the fleet too from 5 different brands and all top models with lots of electronic stuff and the only issues I can remember is a gearbox syncro failure and the paint going bad on my Mitsi Triton and that is not electronic stuff causing those issues.
I think if you buy a quality vehicle it won't give you any issues regardless of how much electronic stuff it has.

yes i think you are right there brapbrap8, some vehicles do last well, most vehicles are capable of huge km with no trouble, often see the bigger jap brands up there.

so is your bother in UK intrade? I ask as I wasn't aware we had any dacia here. Doesn't James May (ex top gear) have a soft spot for them?
Dunno know i could do without aircon and power steering in a new car though.

I like my air con, electric windows, power steering, abs brakes etc etc. I was relatively impressed until you said the Dacia was from 2010, my Toyota is from 98 and apart from a cam belt and cv boot there hasn't been any issues, but then again I guess these are servicing issues rather than a failure.

1991 Cruiser vx nice truck but issues, two trances , two auto window motors, new starter, 2 mew alternators, , new diff lock motors ( poor design )wheel bearing setc on and on. I reckoned costs double to run as a 2.8 hilux. That said what do you buy to beat up in the bush. im talking double cab flat or well deck.?
