Mrs sr2 suggested I choose my own Xmas present.
(I knew there was a reason I've kept her on for over 30 years!).

You have fallen into her trap. Now Mrs SR2 gets to choose her present!

feels great ay, I went on a spending spree for some early Christmas pressies after treating the wife to a new car & a load of other goodies recently she's happy to let me enjoy some of the payout from my last job. The GS1200, new leathers, a Ruger 7mm08, a decent watch etc etc. Time to get back to normal now though & be sensible

Cheers guys; It will be interesting to see how the 59 year old body copes with the whoops, and how the ego copes with my 19 year old son on his KX250 2 stroke rubbing my face in it! (It's been 5 years since my last dirt bike).
I can't believe how cheap 2nd hand dirt bike are at the moment.
That was $2,700 for a 2006 CRFX 250 (electric leg) with 10 hours on a fresh motor. I'll throw a chain and sprockets at it, some new front pads and fresh oil and filter.
Thought I'd check the valve clearances as well as I've been told they can be a weak point if not checked on a regular basis. Has anyone here had any experience with shimming CRF valves?
