A mate of mine looking at buying one on Trademe. Auto. 2290cc 175km I said its Euro. Avoid like the plague. Any thoughts guys

Just because it's a euro is no reason to avoid. However it is a mid 90s saab, and there is a reason they went broke.

Not the greAtest Saab, these second gen ones were based on GM platforms and lost some of the incredible reliability and quality of the originals. If he's an enthusiast and theres a workshop that likes them locally, and it's cheap, would be good car, if none of above, probably not a good idea really. To be fair on Saab they went under mostly because Gm failed to give them any R&D money and they need up just reclothing Gm cars, but Saab did used to have great reputation for build and huge milage. There's part people around for these though. Hope it's not the convertible he's looking at.
