Vintage Grille

maleman, Jan 2, 3:41pm
I am wondering if anybody out there knows where I would be able to get the cord that is threaded on the inner edge of a vintage grille to protect the bonnet and reduce the noise factor. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

its a cotton canvas, almost a flat braid isn't it?

wondering if window sash cord had a center thread or core that could be pulled out, would leave you with something very similar if it has

Thanks guys. It is for a 1937 Wolseley 12/48. They have nothing listed but I will contact them after the holidays as I am sure they will be able to assist.

Many late model tractors still have bonnet lacing type set ups on the front panels. Maybe something like that could suit?

As a short term fix maybe you could use some of that foam rubber door seal tape? Would cut the noise down and protect both grill and bonnet until such time as you can get the correct item

Vetran & Vintage used to be in Mangere & did all that stuff, now they're out west & Ive heard they've gone strictly T & A exclusively but may do, AJs is another bet & there is a guy who does the rounds of the larger hot rod & vintage car shows who does all those bits, rubbers, clips & widgets. & with summer arrived would be a go too (had his card but can't find it)
