Hi Guys, My 2 post clear floor RAV hoist has developed a squeal type noise in the RH post assembly. Noise seems to come from the lift nut area. I have pulled all the nylon slide pads out and checked them for wear and they appear OK. Extra lube on the main threaded shaft seems to alleviate the problem for a couple of lifts. Seems worse when in the upper half of the lift. Any ideas or anyone you could recommend to have a look at it. I'm just out of Christchurch. Cheers, John

the lift nut will be worn and the safety flap will now be touching the screw. look in the back of the post near the bottom there is a wee welded plate check if the plate has any scrape marks on it. as this is a tell tale sign of a worn out nut.

also check that the hose hasn't come off the oil pump and check that oil pump is actually working by raising the hoist a couple of feet off the ground a few times to see if oil is getting pumped up to the top off the lift nut assembly.
