Exchange injector pumps.

bjmh, Feb 23, 6:16am
Any outfits in AKLD that would do an exchange injector pump for a 03 Navara 2.5 D.

intrade, Feb 23, 6:46am
do you talk the commonrail?
and how did you determan it was faulty? if we talking a cr pump?

franc123, Feb 23, 7:55am
What injector pump, what is the issue and who has told you it needs replacing? Its only got a high pressure pump to supply the rail which is highly unlikely to fail.

ute would start and not rev, seemed like an airflow meter fault in a petrol vehicle. its now at a Diesel repair shop in Hamilton. this is part of their e mail reply. "Well pump is the fault haven??

franc123, Feb 23, 9:19am
It must be a non CR version to be that expensive, I'd certainly be getting another diagnosis and price, its a bit dear for a full overhaul even.

movnon, Feb 23, 9:28am
What is the breed & model of the pump (bosch, denso ? )

bjmh, Feb 23, 9:33am
sorry I'm 100 k away from the vehicle,i don't know what breed of pump. it seems expensive. i'm just trying to do some homework for the owner

Got an exchange one for my 97 Prado a few years ago for $900.

rctr, Feb 23, 10:32am
We had a navara of that age on our yard and was doing similar. Sent to local diesel and was told pump. Sent it somewhere in Hamilton and they said first/neutral switch on g box and that it was a common fault

bjmh, Feb 23, 11:57am
any idea who you sent it to ?

i got a mazda capella here guy paid over 500$ for diagnosing the pump faulty. stripped pump nothing wrong mechanically but the timing belt tensioner is dead , so he got a new tensioner will make a post of the outcome. as i trusted the diagnosis of them fancy workshops diagnostic with all there wizbang scanners. But should have knowen better and put my scope on to a few sensors befor i stripped the pump off it . A problem i did find was the automatic timing belt tensioner was faulty we shall see if this was all thats wrong and not the pump.

Go down and see Darcy. see what he can track down for ya.

bjmh, Feb 24, 12:53pm
thanks you learned bunch. some good options

bjmh, Feb 24, 12:55pm
Just as a matter of interest,i asked how they diagnosed the pump fault. they replied "On diagnostic scan tool ECU is spitting out spool valve code."

mechnificent, Feb 24, 1:19pm
Well if it's a spill vavle, it's probably about four-hundred dollars for the part and an easy fit I'd expect. If the diagnosis is correct. It could be the wiring.
Some spill valves are high voltage and hard to test. They might have not tested the spill valve.

intrade, Feb 24, 1:28pm
they are a bunch of idiots!
get a real professional testing it with a scope.
codes are not what part is faulty codes are a symptom only as to what needs to be tested on the vehicle.
ring aecs and ask who they know is capable to diagnose it correctly in the region the vehicle is located ,before anything gets pulled apart.
it could be a component on the pump or the pump is faulty but you sure as hell dont read out a code and say you need a new pump.
also aecs will be able to tell you who can test the pump should it be off the vehicle already

mechnificent, Feb 24, 1:34pm
And the spill valve is external to the pump and can be done on the vehicle.
They could take the valve off and take it or send it somewhere to be tested.

Check earth's beside ecu for corrosion. I just had one spat two fault codes relating to a faulty pump and it was the earths beside the computer. It's common a fault
