yeah I know its not the original engine - thats under the bench today I have a choice job to do, the old spray truck hasn't been running for 8 yrs, dropped a battery in and spun it up yesterday, no compression on 3 cyl ( stuck valves probably ), fuel pump doesn't deliver and no spark on 2 cyl, 2 soft tyres
once I have that running, the old lister on the deck that runs the spray pump ( 3 cyl exposed crank pump ) also has a fuel issue, so will strip that out as well and get it going
all this is currently 4 km from anywhere, parked on a slope in full sun surrounded by 250 acres of bush - no cell phone coverage, no buildings in sight, no power so take the small genny and small air compressor etc . I can get the ssangyong to it, bit steep in places and a few bumps in the track but its 4wheel drive so shouldn't be an issue, the hilux didn't even grunt getting there yesterday
3 yrs ago I lost the hilux over the side on that track with the 4wheeler on the back, stopped about 5 mts below the track, thank god for Kanuka trees, took 3 months before the track was dry enough to get the digger up there and pull them back to the track
will be thinking of ya in your workshops full of customers and noises

sweet day, points semiseized on pivot so dizzy out, cleaned up points at the same time and fly weights, tappet cover off and freed up 3 valves, no fuel in carb so off with that, bowl had dust in it, prised the needle valve out of the mud and cleaned that up, wee suck on pipe and fuel was coming ex pump, hooked it all up and it fired on six healthy lungs The lister was a simple dig the dead moths out of the fuelcock, 2 full turns on the crank, drop the decomp lever and chug chug she goes Dave drove it home to the sheds, will get pics soon its not a one tonner though, smaller, 1/2ton? or did GM also do the 15 cwt there is a one tonner out here, with underbody cam hoist, currently got an old david brown tucked in the gap the old side valve 21 stud used to occupy , still got its RNZA tags and serials painted on it, and half a tonne of scrub growing into it, will get pics of that too I tell ya if Dave hadn't turned up I'd have been having a snooze under the deck in the shade

What drives a motorcar? should it be "enginecar"? Is a motorist really an "enginist"?

Motorcar isn't even a word. But if it was it would be short for motorised carriage.
