probably died as soon as video ended, would take a few seconds to reach engine with the snorkel fitted, may have large airbox too. But perhaps also has a really good self draining system, so kept going if it got shallow enough before she hydrauliced.

Apparently, the yanks have set up a system involving an air bottle & shut off valve on the intake pipe for momentary dunkings. As soon as the air intake senses a large enough amount of water entering, it closes & diverts the intake to the air supply tank.
