Fire extinguishers were serviced today and we were told they were too high, and needed to be lowered (so short arses could reach them?) Been at the height they are still at, for years. In other words high enough that we don't knock into them, can see them, and can easily grab hold of them.

I have been in the power tool repair game for the last 20 years and when you see the state of some of the tools being used on a daily basis, it is little wonder Worksafe are so hot on the testing issue, I have replaced leads which have been joined by twisting the wires together then wrapping them with masking tape, customers drop their tools in for repair with multiple points on the lead which have exposed wires and taped portions then say they don't want the lead replaced, they will always get it back from me with a new lead

Yep those are fair enough because they are constantly being moved around in rough conditions, but to retest every year on the likes of computer power cords that don't move for many years is nuts.

you can test and tag your own leads,tools etc,you only need to be a competent person under the law to do this.we brought our own tester ,got our own tags made
