Painting or powder coating might be your best bet. I think chroming is hideously expensive.

If you polish them and spray Incralac on them, they might stay shiny for 2 years. Then a light sand and more Incralac.

You don't chrome alloy wheels.
You can take them to someone who will polish & re-clear them.
We get them done in Cambridge, but I believe there might be somewhere in Palmy that does them. You need to have your fingers sus it out.

I gringe when I see any suspension components are chrome plated . you can ., but the parts MUST be heat treated for possible hydrogen enbrittlement . as a wheel rim is part of the suspension . same applies to any part under stress forces

I have a blue car. My wheels are painted in shadow chrome cost was $80 per wheel including removing curb damage. That was with tyres off

Phssst ! , that comrade is chicken shit to my rims, . I imported some left over paint from a big factory gloss over up in ?noble Russia . my rims glow in the dark !

Do they charge up the battery as well?

elect70, Jul 15, 12:32am
Might do that , powder coater wants about $100 wheel as I waned the spokes silver & rim black . so double the price as heat sealed twice so bugger that Ill go & see my local spraypainter , no metal polishers in manawatu region that was my first thought .
