What happened to the post where I got told I had a bad attitude? Actually made me laugh.

What do you do for a living sugarbear?

Never mind - I'm just gunna say that whatever it is, you have the right attitude to convince me that you have to be useless at it.

But I stand by my belief that a damaged vehicle (unless that damage is very minor) is not going to bring the same price as that vehicle would have brought before the accident.

^^^^ quote above is what you have said. You say in your first post that you did indeed have a minor accident. Here you say (insinuate) minor damage wont effect price yet you are worried your minor damage somehow will? I am confused.
You still have not said what was damaged and what kind of car it is that devalues so much after a prang.

gabbysnana, Sep 1, 8:23pm
you need to update.

I did indeed, 40ish years is probably more correct.

tjholding has a degree in insurance law. What do you base your comment on?

sugarbear, Sep 2, 10:21pm
Certainly a lot of trolls in these threads.

tjholding, Sep 3, 11:28pm
Ok I'll bite Gabbysnana: Can you point me to any recent case law that changes any interpretation of tort low?

tegretol, Sep 4, 6:05am
But you said in your OP that it was a 'minor' ding.

Which is it or is this a trolling excercise?

Oh and by the way, in your deliberations, don't forget to factor in the betterment costs that you may incur.

If the insurance company is going to fix it the damage will be only minor.

If it's structural they will probably write it off.

If not they will replace a bumper, bonnet, guard, do a bit of painting etc and it will be just like new. Maybe even better. A lot of cars are budget painted in the factory.

As others have said - nothing to worry about.

The days of them cutting cars in 1/2 and doing other major work is long over.
