Leaking AN fitting

kinger7, Oct 8, 10:45pm
Can anyone shed any light on why the fitting in the video is leaking ? I see there is a tiny hole but there in all the fittings and this the only one leaking. Could this just be a dud ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJDbQDIcZtw

Either it is loose and needs tightening, or by going by the look of the nut it's been cranked up too tight and it's split the seat in the fitting and thats where its leaking.
I have used hydraulic fittings like that and they won't handle being over tightened, they are a spun fitting rather than a machined one which seems to handle having their necks rung a bit better.

a dud or did you put it in the wrong direction?

kinger7, Oct 8, 11:38pm
Wrong direction ? ill pull the fitting of and investigate . Does anyone know what that little hole is for ?

It will have a pin in it to hold the fitting together, I'd say you have over tightened it and split the seat and when they leak it comes out thru there as it cant come out past the thread.

Well you were all wrong . . . it was the complete opposite , wasn't tightened . All sorted, sitting 85 psi and holding pressure

Anyone that goes to the trouble of creating a video and coming on here without first checking if the coupling is tight has to be wronger than any of the posters on here.
