in STh Auckland keep the pursuit up till the villians crash?!that last chase went 4minutes in the weekend till they landed in a tree, down this way they pull out in seconds if lives at risk.ITs not a cop bashing thread before all the serving and ex coppers on here start bristling at their sterling service protecting us .iTS ONLY a subie or some other POS they know who they are usually.

In that case it has saved them a lot of future hassle given the creature's recent history

Yeah agree but they usually slam into some poor bastard driving along gets involved,no loss on the shitbag saves jail costs.

This car was stolen - no use getting the licence plate number and chasing up the owner in this case.

They should ramp up the charges for running. Buy a large degree.

Have all cars fitted with remote immobilisers then? If some knob jockey had nicked my car I wouldn't wan't the police to just let him drive away if he didn't want to stop.

Saw on TV the other day where the Yanks have a 50mm cannon that fires a tracking devise. Just need to replace that with high explosive.
Just saw the news - they chased him for 52 seconds, not 4 minutes. And he was in the car driving down the motorway on the wrong side last week. And did a runner from the hospital. Good for the tax payer that there's no more 'ands'

I notice the "stuff" video said it was only 52 seconds?

Are you talking about the one this morning? From the herald, the car, which was stolen earlier from Takanini, hit a tree about one minute after the police pursuit began just before 6am.

It's an issue beyond police intervention. Police are mealy cleaning up the mess, the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff so to speak. Want a fence at the top of the cliff? Stop parents having kids they neither want nor can afford. These parents get funded by government to spit out kids for money, kids they then fail to teach morels, consequences, respect and how to keep their thieving hands off others property. When people stop being so politically correct and ask why we continue to pay breeders on benifits, many of the offspring who continue on with the one thing they do learn from deadbeat parents, zero respect, we might actually get somewhere. Until that point police will continue to have to deal with the fallout. Just my 2 cents minus tax

Having attended incidents in the past then later seen the stuff articles on them I often wondered if I had in fact been to a different incident (in the same place, at the same time). No a believer of what I read in stuff

Yeah true that.,we got a lot of information overload these days, and as you say you have been there =,and read about later and know it false.

If you are going to do a runner, at least get the skills to pull it off. So many of these kids crash 60 seconds after the blues come on - floor it and crash. Maybe there should be a session at Hampton Downs as part of the license test.

How to boot it and live?
skull,
Oct 10, 6:48am
That would be no help at all, they don't have licenses and don't have the inclination to go for one even if they do make it to the appropriate age.

We could do workshops to upskill these kids in escape proceedures for police chases. We could get government funding, and old cop cars for training purposes. I could give up my day job and increase my self esteme for all the good work I do. I'm gunna give it a go, anything to help these unfortunate kids.

Brings a new meaning to the line, "gone in 60 seconds"
Im amazed at the cops timing, they always seem to withdraw from the pursuit 10-20 seconds before the crash. real crystal ball stuff that
stornello,

Probably pretty obvious to them what's going to happen. no crystal ball required.

Yep, the usual excuse and blame laying, nothing new there. He was only 18 they say he didnt know better they imply, what was he doing wrong they ask. Oh, and FTP, always a winning slogan. At 18 I was working full time on a farm busting my arse. And I knew right from wrong. I think it had something to with my, eeer , ummm, my parents. And I certainly didn't come come from a privileged home so they can not blame poverty as an excuse. They could use that other well tossed about excuse though I guess.

Im exactly the same, farming then machines and trucks at 18, maybe thats why I find myself nodding in agreement with your posts, booted out at 16 with not a cent, cause we had no silver spoons.
