some one agreeing to buy my as is where is. Rego just expired & no WOF. Do we still need to do the Change of registerd person form from NZ Post?

Yes. stops any future problems of ownership and road/parking infringements and any outstanding registration if the vehicle is not put on hold.

Yes and get a receipt saying you have sold as is where is ! Otherwise you leave yourself open to restore their car ! A verbal agreement is not enough.
All they need do is be a little dishonest and go get quotes for any repairs needed and take you to small claims court and the adjudicator ( who will be a dweeb lacking real life skills ) will order you to rebuild the car to as new condition !

Yes this is the registered owner - not the same as the vehicle registration fee we pay yearly. And you can change it on the internet - takes about 5 minutes and cost $9 from memory. This is damn handy because you can do it while the buyer is there. Thus no issues.

great. Thanks to all. I see the online version for selling car form includes space for your driver licence details. The form from NZ Post doesn;t. Think will use thi smethod as car registerd is hubbys name & he not here.
just have to hope sale goes through now!

If you've sold the car, and you want to do the Change of Ownership (as I always do, to cover my arse) You will need the punters name, drivers licence number & version number, and their date of birth.
Take a pic of their licence. If they let you. Otherwise write those details down - correctly.

You can fill out an on-line form advising that you have sold the car without having their licence details, but that doesn't do the full job. Only the fool job.
