I'm tossing up between the two, both imports. Any pros and cons for these? I'm not sure how to tell the service history, but they've been serviced by a long-standing caryard with a good reputation for sales and a good workshop.
I like the back seat spaciousness of the 2009 and the lack of fussy computerised features compared with the later eyesight models. Not fussed on cruise control. The 2007 wins on price, obviously, but looks tidy with around 100,000km
I want a real auto, not cvt, and a chain drive, hence narrowing it down to the two.

Both seem well liked and respected. The 09 Being a whole new generation should feel like a more modern motor and is a bit more SUV over the estate on stilts of previous model. 09 seemed ugly when new, designed for Yankee tastes, but looks ok now. Funny how we get used to them. If I could cough up the extra mojo I'd go for a newer generation 09 and reap the benifits of those improvement.
