Had a test ride quite a while back and loved it. Obvious comparison is a HD Sportster and the Scout wins hands down. On paper its also lighter and has more power than the Sportster. Not my cuppa tea but I really enjoyed my afternoon on the Scout. The 6 speed box is a nice touch Nice looker too. More aggressive looking than the Harley

I found it quite heavy and sluggish, very smooth though from memory - it was about 50 years ago.

Agreed, and I struggled with the left handed throttle.

The gear lever was a bit different as well.

Most of them converted, even while still used by the army, mine was right handed throttle. Hard to break, easy to work on and lotsa fun.
