Keyless entry

joburger, Sep 3, 7:32am
So today we discovered a wee key in the remote. My husband got into the car (remote battery was flat). but then What? Should there be a secret keyhole to start the car?
It's all well and good being able to get into the car, but it couldn't be started at all in an emergency.

Toyota Auris if that makes a difference

Thanks!

Hold back of key fob right up to start button. I mean right on it! Wait, car should beeb. Then it will start.
Note, this worked for Corolla but yours is jap market so hope it's same.
Then get new battery in fob!

It works as described by tamarillo in most cars with proximity keys and pushbutton start

My nearly 90 year old Chev had keyless entry & keyless ignition, just a switch, so nothing is new
