diesel and smoke killer and fuel injector cleaner is really necessary, since there are low sulpur levels in our diesel, or has it been sorted now? this product is supposed to lube the necessary components to keep a good motor running sweet.

Well my Prado diesel has this stuff each time I fill the tank, no problems so far. It is an older diesel, piece of mind. My old safari had the same and no problems up tp 300k. Each to their own.

Necessary or not it's always a good idea and even on newer diesels I have found the economy increase to cover the cost of the additive so no big deal. I mostly use it in the hope of getting as much life as possible out of my common rail injectors. So far so good on all I have owned. I must compare flow rates sometime to see if any difference is made after owning one a while.

BTW. Quality 2 stroke oil is tested to be almost as good. However I find Moreys is so cheap it's not worth the effort.

Heaps on google about people using this, and positive results. Has to be plain old mineral 2 stroke, not synthetic.
Some say the motors run smoother, quieter.
Not sure if modern diesel fuel lubricates as well as it used to, but a lot say it does not. Worth a read up, they say the ideal ratio is around 200:1. a 4 litre pack of cheap 2 stroke oil would go a long way. With diesel injector pumps being so expensive, would be worth a try.
My diesel pump is a $3000 rebuild roughly, touch wood its never played up, but I'd be happy to try the 2 stroke oil if it helped protect it.

This whole "low sulphur" thing is a worry. The rest of the world has zero sulphur--and modern diesels rely on it. so its little wonder we have smokey diesels,.
