Container wrangling on the street.

Our quiet suburban Auckland street is a little wider than average so occasionally a container truck will park up and transfer a container to another (double parked) truck. This reduces the street to one way for a while. Is this actually legal?.

I am no expert in the traffic law here but if its obstructing the flow of traffic it is illegal ? I believe they need to have traffic management in place for that.

If its not a private road, you could call Auckland Council to get advice on the matter.

Does the Port Company rules prevent vehicle to vehicle transfers on their ground or is it the truckies avoiding traffic congestion in the port area?
