"Spiegel magazine has an absolutely shocking account of a cartel between the five motor companies – VW, Daimler, BMM, Porsche, and Audi. The original article is worse than any summary we have read because of the many details the two authors have dug up in a large investigation. Coming on top of the diesel emissions scandal, the reputation of the German car industry has been reduced to that of a criminal organization. Unlike the authors, we are less worried about the fines, which will be large, than about the long-term commercial impact."

VW, Audi & Porsche are all part of VW Group anyways so yeah they obviously 'collude'. Bit surprised to hear Merc and BMW in on it, but there it is. Will it stop me buying a German car? Nope.

Remember the game you playd at scool everyone in one row and then the teacher gives a secret you pass on to the next student and the last one is gona tell what the teacher told the first student? yea it was never ever wat the teacher told the first student silently in his ear. dont know the word for telling silent stuff lol. cant be botherd to translate it its called "flüstern" in german if you want to look it up.

ok the title yea well ummm yea Tsunami to Hit Germany: Five Auto Companies Admit to Illegal Cartel This article is trying to single out the german car makers. I guarantee you every last company is cheating . its impossible to meet the knothead penpushers idiotic rules . Everyone cuts corner its why i recon every car is $hit and you got to hunt for what is less $hit amoung the crap.

. also I would add that in the 90's when standard road cars started to get properly quick ALL of the German makes got together and made a "Gentleman's Agreement" that they would limit all 'standard' models to 250km/h to avoid a senseless (and possibly dangerous) pissing contest in pursuit of the best top speed.
Nobody complained about that.

Now to why everyone cuts corners. You cant blame them the blame is with you and me and the knotheads in california and the $hitheads in zurich switzerland. Now why do they cut corners. because if you cut corners your profit will be higher. If you do not cut corners you have a superior product that no one buys because everyone else is cheaper. Saurer trucks went down the gurgler because of exactly that superior product not enough reinvestment = Bancrupcy Governments are also to be blamed for bancrupting business , victorinox swiss knives said they are on there last leg the government of switzerland is bankrupting them with taxes and high wages . You can almost exlusively only buy crap today. I have a High standard of quality i dont ming if i pay 150$ for a ratchet if it is ultra good the exactl thing that i love to work with and it lasts me 20 or more years. I have been looking for a ratchet replacment since 2 years because i lost my good one 2 years ago The replacment ratchet of the same tool maker is garbage. it fell apart 1 week ago when i dropped it in to my plastic tool case . i got a toptul and some other one as backup but its not as good as the one i lost. And the teng-tool at the speed show looked all like garbage to me . Draper looks good on immages on here but how good is the rubber handle ? who knows . stalwille is on my wotchlist but it has to fit my blowmold tool case.
My prediction, is a massive turn in Chinese Electric cars. Purple monkey dishwasher.

More media sensationalism to sell advertising. I;m sure the motor makers of Germany are quaking in their boots because some 2 Bit magazine has published some article about behind the scenes practices. Which begs the question, who would be the person/people blowing the whistle. For me Cars are now stronger, safer, more economical, reliable and a much better drive than they ever used to be.

No, Der Spiegel isn't a 2 bit rag, it's got a pretty solid reputation. The two journalists who wrote the piece are two of Germany’s most renowned business journalists (apparently) and while you may be happy with the cars you have owned, I don't think German auto makers have been colluding to bring you a better car, more likely to suppress innovation and increase profits. That's why there are anti-collusion laws. If there is no competition in the market place then the consumer wears it.
i put the emission tester in any petrol cars tail pipe and 90% wont meet the emissions = they all cheat . The whole thing is just to make money just like global waming bullcrap. Now i did not say global-f. king up the planet was a hoax but global warming is The biggest global warming gas is water vapour like the stuff airoplains make. you know the ones who also have ultra high nox and 0 emission exahaust gas and catalisators or any thing what so ever to clean anything so why are they not tageted? i tell you why because they cant be bleed of money its the big guns who own airlines you can only bleed dry the citizen who works for a living with bull$hite like global warming. its the same thing all over a witch-hunt. if its a witch we drown here if she surwives its a witch if she dies she was not. So your screwd either way.
