I looked at buying one a few years ago when the current model (?) came out. Walked up, looked at boot space, walked away. Bought a Nissan further up the SUV range. Now looking to upsize again.
Depends what you need.

My daughter in Perth has one and I've just been over for a holiday and driven a couple of thousand km around W.A. I was surprised by how well it went and how smooth and comfortable it was for an SUV. Some posters on here wont like the CVT trans but if your main purpose is to get from A to B in (reasonable) comfort and economy then its a great car. If you like to have a bit of fun in the gorges or enjoy the hilly stuff, then not so much, but if that's the case, you are looking at the wrong TYPE of vehicle anyway. As far as I know, they have no inherent problems as long as the servicing is kept up to date - especially the transmission fluid.

It is not bad spec wise - lacks some of the safety equipment that some of its competition has but has some other things that others don't have as well (especially intelligent park assist and all round parking monitor). Find the panoramic roof to be a bit of a non event? Only because it doesn't open.
Has a CVT - which you will either love or loathe. I am the latter on that one. Would go with a standard auto every time over a CVT.
If you are looking at one then you should probably also consider the Subaru XV (also a CVT) and the Mazda CX3. If you want proper off road ability then perhaps the Jeep Renegade could be a good option as well.
The Subaru has one of THE best safety systems available - eye-sight - plus is a full time AWD whereas the Qashqai is 2WD only (as is the top spec CX3).

Yes it is a bit - only 310l boot. The XV is a great car though. I loved the eye-sight system in the Outback.

Ford Escape better vehicle in my opinion.

The Escape is not comparable to the Qashqai - that would be the XTrail
