But I bet the survivors never make the same mistakes again. Experience is a more effective teacher than any H & S lecture in a classroom.

I think professional tree fellers in NZ are a lot more careful. A number of big trees in my town have recently been chopped down. They start at the top and just cut short sections of branches and trunk off at a time, certainly haven't seen disasters like we have seen in this clip.
