I have a 2290cc supercharged Mercedes and want to get more power. what would the best way to go. Standard SLK230 give 194hp. Be good to get another 20 to 40hp
Put the 320 V6 in good for 160 Kw standard . 4 bangers regarded as hairdressers cars & s chargers wont like spinning any faster . they already renown for doing in the bearings @$$.

I thought about that but it's only a gain of 21hp plus the extra weight I didn't think that was worth the effort.(only half a second quicker 0-100km) SLK230 Kompressor 1996–2000 M111.973 2.3 L I4 supercharged 142 kW (190 hp) @ 5,300 rpm 280 N⋅m (207 lb⋅ft) @ 2,500–4,800 rpm 7.4 s 2000–2004 M111.983 2.3 L I4 supercharged 145 kW (194 hp) @ 5,500 rpm 280 N⋅m (207 lb⋅ft) @ 2,500 rpm 7.2 s SLK320 2000–2004 M112 E32 3.2 L V6 160 kW (215 hp) @ 5,700 rpm 310 N⋅m (229 lb⋅ft) @ 3,000–4,600 rpm 6.9 s

Want more performance? Buy an actual fast car to begin with.

Hp isnt everything V6 lot more torque & a much nicer motor very smoooth 7 reliable . but probably not worth the cost . Sell it & buy a real SLk a 500 SOC around late 80s the later DOC actually have less power due to more anti polution crap in them

You can almost guarantee that you will remove any cost of "improvements" from the value of the car. I know that any meddled with car will be instantly deleted from my watch list.

A supercharged SLK230 should be a reasonably fast car when standard. I wouldn't transplant a V6 into it, you will just be opening a can of worms, far better ways to spend the money, for instance if the standard supercharger won't take any more speed then upgrade it to an aftermarket one. That, and the good ol' big exhaust and upgraded air filter (not a pod, they're more trouble than they're worth).

Thats not always the case at least its not the 1.8 hand granade. for vw the 1,9 unit injector you can get emense monster tuning up to 600hp from its original 150 with special injectors and monsta turbos because they are built rugged for racing from the factory. vw rooted the transmissions in 1996 on there race tdi hence why my vw has the rugged 6 speed powertrain beefed up and taken from the vr6.
