Nah, only good for instantly smoothing power supplies.
1.5 mws - Mega watt seconds, is only 0.416 kilowatt hours.
Can not see a combo increasing range that much, but maybe with the other types of batteries being developed, it could well be part of the future picture.
Seems like the space taken up, could be used to same effect, for more batteries.

In case anyone missed the point the estonian chap made Regenerative braking to charge a vehicle's capacitor, acceleration phase of vehicle uses capacitor's stored charge, saving wear and tear on the vehicle's lithium battery making the range further and increasing battery life. (million cycles on the capacitors)
