Anyone recomend a good marine grade RTV sealant . Ive used Sellys crap on my kontikis Ss bracket s & mountings but it doesnt last long it doesnt stick to stailess steel very well eventually leaks & farks the batteries . Just replaced the last lot today only lasted a season

need to check what its suitable for. some sealants require primers to be able to stick to metal. going through surf is hard on everything. could you make a mechanical seal?
Hubby worked for a while in the as storemans assistant for his employer, (this is not his usual job for them but he filled in). He says they always used Sika. They repair airplanes and the requirements for that kind of work are extremely strict.

My opinion is that you should be using an Adhesive sealant an not just a sealant.

Go across to a sika product. DON'T use RTV DO properly clean the alluminum surface then prepare it as per the instructions.

Yes and IF you used the WRONG Sika product then likewise you have failure! Do not dis a brand because you used the wrong product because that is cruel!
