Licence demerits

Dumb question, I’m assuming that when job advertisement state clean licence that it means no driving offences at all. This would be correct?

Next question, apart from being disqualified and losing your licence is there any way to reduce the amount of time demerits are on your licence.
I’m talking 10 demerits here. Thanks

Nope! I believe they're wiped after 2 years, provided you don't accumulate any more. I could be wrong.

That would be correct, that’s how I read it as well.

Apply anyway.

It is 50/50 if they will actually check, but employers are unlikely to care about 10 points on your licence, so you could openly disclose it. be real formal, look up the date, and the offence.

If they ask you to sign the police background check form, you should definitely disclose it.

How do you find out how many demerit points you have against you on your licence?

Yes 2 years. You call the NZ Transport Agency on 0800 822 422.

Clean licence will be no driving convictions. Not a ticket for doing 5km/h over.
