I cant believe the amount of people selling cars, caravans, motorhomes, motor bikes etc who have several unanswered questions on the auctions for several days, do they actually want to sell ? When ever I have been selling something I checked every day incase of questions.

As a regualr seller, not a great deal but 1 or two a moth on trade me, I wish the questions could be disabled. The people who ask questions via trade me rarely, if ever buy. If they are serious they would at least send an email or better pick up the phone. Some of them are deliberate attempts to make it look less desirable to other buyers, I admit not a lot but it does happen. One exaple is asking iwhen the cam belt was last done. On one occasion it was done last week and no further contact. I can't recall selling a car to a person who has asked about the cam belt before they have viwed the car, wether the answer is it is overdue or it has just been done.

Probably because some of these questions are plain stupid or else covered off in the description, or they're lowball offers. As said above the ones that fire questions at you very rarely turn out to be buyers.

I always read the questions on the auction as they tell me extra information the seller forgot to include, based on the answers provided and also the way they are answered guides me to bid or not.
I may not have asked any questions but they were very important to the sale, don’t dismiss their value to your auction.

And i ask if i want to know something, and buy plenty of the ones i asked on, (but never anything that question was not replied to).

My observation is that the probability a person is going to buy a car is inversely proportional to the number of questions asked.

You'd be lucky to get a questionn mark.

It's worth bearing in mind that an answer to one question may help another person to come and have a look and become the buyer. You only need one buyer, do whatever it takes to get them!

Why are you not shown as In Trade and why are you not displaying the required Trader Registration number?

uummmmmmmmmmm

In trade is a based on the way cars are advertised on trade me. For as few as I do I just pay the fees one by one like most people would. There is no requirement to include the RMVT number in the add, in fact I can’t think of anyone who does. If you come to view the car you will see the number.

Wrong on both counts. In Trade means you are selling with the intention of making a profit.

And from TM policy "Registered motor vehicle traders: If you sell six or more vehicles in a year, you’re likely to be required by law to register as a registered motor vehicle trader (RMVT). If so, you must register and state your RMVT number in your listings. You authorise us to search the Motor Vehicle Traders Register on your behalf to check your RMVT status."
