There is a ton of cars with 4 x 114.3 stud pattern. Google it. The hard part is the offset. Also 114.3mm is 4 1/2 inch

loud_37, Mar 12, 6:52am
Cortina

tigertim20, Mar 12, 7:01am
cheers - am I likely to find something at the local wreckers?

a friend who is very much a car guy seemed to think the size was uncommon and Id struggle to find something

franc123, Mar 12, 7:28am
That's a Nissan Datsun pattern. It was never ever a Cortina one, that's 4 x 108, or 4 1/4 inches. 114.3mm is actually 4 1/2 inches.

itsafamilything, Mar 12, 7:28am
Ok you need to measure the diameter and offset. You have the old wheels so measure the offset. Put these sizes into wheelsize.com and it will bring up your options. Don't underestimate the importance of offset!

Aren`t the Cortinas 108mm ?
4 X114 was a common size - Galants , Early Corollas etc but many cars went to 100mm and then 5 stud.

90's Accords?

kazbanz, Mar 12, 10:14am
4x114.3 is definitely a multi fit option. Do you want 14 inch wheels? NV200 come in with spare sets of wheels all multi fit 14 inch

Buy a hub and stub kit for what ever pattern you like and build a new axle. Or and I have done this once before got the hubs re-drilled to the falcon pattern and used off the shelf wheels from TWL. Those hubs were Morris Oxford or something strange . Engineer did it for a box. Much easier then finding wheels.
Last trailer I built a couple years ago I dot the hubs and stubs off here with the Subaru pattern to match some alloys I had.

tygertung, Mar 12, 12:27pm
Toyota, mitsubishi, mazda all used that in the 80s. Maybe still does, who knows?

vtecintegra, Mar 12, 5:35pm
Honda used to use it on the Prelude and Accord too. Most more modern cars are five stud so you need to go back to the 90s or earlier.

loud_37, Mar 12, 9:07pm
My mistake, definitely not cortina. I have falcon at 5x114.3 and cortina at 4x108 and mixed them up, sorry.

franc123, Mar 12, 10:09pm
If I was having to build a new axle I'd go 5 x 114.3. That pattern has been used for so long by so many manufacturers its never going to be difficult to get wheels for.

itsafamilything, Mar 13, 3:01am
The requirements are seen here.

He needs wheels

Everything else is rebuilt well.

hubs have a 4 x 114mm stud pattern

any ideas?

I dont want to have to redo a whole axle

There it is!

Does not need new axle, hubs etc.

Just wants to know HOW to go about finding the right wheels.

kazbanz, Mar 13, 6:55am
where are ya?

franc123, Mar 13, 9:57am
And it's been stated what wheels off what cars will fit it by several posters. Something you actually failed to do self appointed thread manager. As for where to find them it's obvious that scouting around a few wreckers will net a result.

In order of consideration remembering this is for a trailer.

Stud pattern
Backspace, (How deep is the back of the rim from hub face to rim edge)
Overall width
Diameter & finished overall height with chosen tyres.

Backspace.
You can adjust mudguards for rims that sit out wider but you can't adjust the sides of the trailer for deeper dished rims

Well said!

OP bare in mind too that the rusty wheels that came off the trailer are not necessarily the ones that BEST match the hubs you have. ie they may not have the right offset. It is worth identifying what the hubs have come off and getting wheels to suit. This is to look at the situation the other way around.
Something to consider maybe.

thanks for input folks.

Ill peruse the wreckers next week. Ill take a hub with me, as hubs are still sitting with the new bearings ready to be fitted. I can dry-fit and work out backspace to figure out offset

itsafamilything, Mar 13, 10:27pm
YES take a hub! All the best and let us know how you got on. Different people will come at a given scenario from differing perspectives and that's fine but it does mean you need to do some sifting at times. Yet another thought but yes find the origin of the hubs and get wheels that were fitted to those hubs and the offset becomes irrelevant if you see what I mean. HOWEVER bear in mind that the new application for the hubs has been the trailer and so it IS possible what IF the replacement wheels differ substantially (offset) from your rusty ones you could find that there is insufficient clearance between the tyres and trailer frame. Do you see what I mean? In such a case the axle beam would have to be lengthened. You can get an idea though, put the hubs on and rusty wheels on and measure each side and go from there. Hopefully the rusty wheels ARE the correct ones after all! The importance though is that with the wrong offset you can chew out your bearings / snap a stub axle so it is good to get it set up correctly.

OYYY--WHERE ARE YOU ?
As in where in the country are ya?

andy61, Mar 13, 11:46pm
Its a pity you dont live nearby, I have a pair of alloy wheels in a 4 x 114 stud pattern size with excellent tyres you could have for free, I bought a set of 4, fitted 2 to a log splitter and still have the other 2 left over! . Try the likes of Nissan Primeras, 90`s/00`s Accords ,Galants/Legnums for rims
