Everyone needs to go back and read the first line of the OP.

Dent/Scratch from a wayward trailer coupling - means painting must be required.
Those tools work very well in a video. Usually those video's switch off just as I'm saying "It's still rough as guts!"

his holden, fixed straight away. My old Camry, as long as it wasn't too bad then it would just get left. Not sure about my ute yet as no damage and fingers crossed never have to find out

Jeebers I must be getting old. Sorry team.
Ok Op Ive been in this game a fairly long time. I've learned a trick or two over the years. popping bumpers and dealing with dings in panels (paintless repairs) are things I'm usually comfortable dealing with. But if I was starting out I sure wouldn't want to be experimenting with a small dent in a nearly new car. For a starter the small ones are often the hardest to deal with and you could end up making more mess than you sort out. I started out on old trade ins where frankly you really couldn't make things look much worse.
I would call dingbusters /dingman/dent devils and have them look at it for you,
THAT SAID --if you posted up a picture of the ding/scratch it would really help to offer you precise advice.

I'd be more worried about the scratch.

I have used dent devils twice, and while it took only 2 mins and $100 it was worth it , but when I had to get a dent done at the panel beaters (on a panel you could not get behind) they had to paint it 3 times to get it right. Was not happy about that.

Silver car or 3 layer pearl?

Get someone who does it for a living, trying to do it yourself with no experience can end up causing more damage
