Iveco trucks have a neat feature, there is a button on the dash (SL), once you reach the speed limit hit the speed limit button and you cant accelerate past that limit until you push through the indent at maximum throttle. Its bloody handy around town if you are being GPS speed monitored, I wish it was standard on all trucks.

Good, next thing they need to think about fitting in all cars is an alcohol and drug detector that stops you driving and locks the car to stop it being driven. I think there's something already, but it needs to be in all cars. I don't give a hoot about what the civil libertarians think either, lives are more important.

I don't think NZ will be next, we tend to lag Europe substantially when it comes to car safety and emissions stuff. But it will likely get here eventually.
Seem more likely it will be dynamic to match the speed limit:
"Dubbed Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA), the limiters will use GPS data and/or traffic sign recognition cameras to determine the speed limit of the road a vehicle is travelling on. Engine power will then be limited to match this, preventing the car from exceeding the speed limit. It will be possible to override the system by pushing hard on the throttle, however the system will be engaged every time a car is started."

Unless you're on an unlimited autobahn it won't be suiting anywhere in Europe, not at 180kph. So it sure wouldn't be 180k here. My point being, there'll be no leeway here, it's not in a bureaucrat's nature.

More like fit cars with GPS-RUC then set it up to speeding fine them automatically, that way they can sit back and watch the $$$$$$ counter spin at hypersonic speeds. $trillions, not hundreds of millions. HAHAHA. suckers the speed is only the max speed we altered down from 180 to 130, we still have you all by the throat.
