had a head on while passing me over the yellow lines, along with the other cars in front with oncoming traffic coming the other way, dunno how he didn't hit the other oncoming car(s). This was while I was travelling to Putaruru from Tokoroa. Operator said on the phone there was a few complaints, just as I entered Putaruru, there were 2 cop cars waiting for him with their lights flashing, and they created a half road block with one lane closed. Was so happy to see this guy busted. Hopefully he lost his licence and not just a slap on the wrist. I think installing a dashcam is a good idea from now on.

I have used it a bit, sometimes repeatedly for the same idiot boy racer. But often they are too busy with other jobs(friday /Saturday nights), so nothing happens, but usually admit it if asked, and are fine with me ringing again each next event, and so eventually got him.

ive done it about 2 or 3 times now with success each time. Was asked once that they would lay charges but was an unlikely chance I would be asked to be a witness in court. I said sure. Never heard anything more.

Nothing will happen. Your word is no better than his. He could say you nearly had a head on with him. Dreaming.

Maybe maybe not.convictions do go through based on public’s evidence often.

I have used it a handful of times in my life.
The last time, less than 5 minutes later a local cop rang back, saying the person I saw is a local disaster waiting to happen, he just needed one more complaint from a member of the public to put together a case that would get him off the road for a long time, could I please go to the station and make a statement?
So I did, and then a couple of weeks later when I saw that car again, his girlfriend was driving and her speed/behaviour was much more sensible.

I rang in as was following a tradies van that was weaving all over the road. They asked me to keep following and report what I was seeing until they could get a police car to intercept.
Once that happened the police officer took my details and told me I could leave. He rang me later to say the tradie was writing out invoices while driving 😂🤣! Needless to say he was charged.

I've called it once. A person was following me, one minute they were a few car lengths back, the next they were almost crashing into me (no, my speed was not all over the show, it was constant). They were also swerving over to the other side of the road often.
I had to turn off, so I don't know if the cops ever caught up with them or not. I'd hope so. The person was either having a medical event, or was drunk (or maybe just a really really bad driver)

for two cop cars to be called out he would be well known to them. highly likely to have a long list of offences lined up against him already.

*555. I never seem to get through or I am out of cell range. I was out of cell range through the Awakino Gorge when I got passed by an intercity bus. I was the passenger in an Evo 4 and we were travelling at the posted speed limit. We had to panic stop because the bus driver cut us off when a car came around the corner. Rang 111 at Mokau because the driver was insane, he was trying to do 100km/h around the corners.

Yup and even if they dont convict the driver, it goes on their record they tell me. Also was told that if you provide the number plate but the cops dont find them, they put it on their record and also pay them a visit a their home.

Only ever used it when someone does some "Insane" and illegal driving. Has always been answered and dealt with.
