Second thread and AGAIN you have been asked what carb? All we got before was ASIAN. Please supply engine and carburettor. Hell even a couple of photos and those who have remachined spindle bushes may well be able to assist further

I think the deal is that you need a special reamer or the bushes will be a bit out of alignment? Plenty of info on YouTube.

I kept a flogged out one going for quite a bit longer by carefully putting a wrap of teflon tape around the shaft. I couldnt get replacement bushings, so eventually got a very good second hand carb.

Yes this thread does have a 'Groundhog Day' feel to it.
Seems noone here realises the most common brand carby fitted to older imports is the AISAN. These are a generic twin barrel with vacuum operated secondary. Rebushing is dead easy, just a drill and teflon bushings will see the job done. This repair will last forever. While you are at it, drill and tap the primary side bowl drain bolt and fit a m2 screw with a short piece of darning needle. This will give an easily adjustable main jet to compensate for jet wear, a great aid to decreased fuel consumption. These are great carburettors, originally a cpy of the Mukuni fitted to many early Mitsubishis. AISAN carbs are still manufactured in China but are getting rather expensive now. One model carb had a plastic lower main body, these if you can find one will fit directly onto the early type and never had the wear problem. I like carburettors.
