i havent stolen the vehicle, but I want to remove the immobiliser, it's aftermarket one. it is a pain to use, and both fobs are broken. anyone have good youtube link, or better still a reliable place in christchurch to do it. 1997 escudo

easy enough aftermarket garbage will just be hacked in to the wiring harness, i think zephire heaven is in chch otherwise that company can do it or knows somone reliable http://www.getelectronic.co.nz/ you need to remove and rejoin the wiring harness correctly again best done if you have soldering tools crimpers and shrink tube and a bit of knowhow otherwise you better let professionals do it as its going to cost more if you f---k with it first.

Why not fix the fobs. I love mine. One of the better things on newer cars.

If I owned an older tech 4WD in Chch I would probably be repairing the immobiliser system if economic to do so or else replacing it with a new one. You can probably guess the reason why.
