There were full rebuild PT cruisers that were done in the US years ago - Hemi V8 engine & big auto trans with big diff etc, suspension & steering overhaul

No. They did not all die - just the owners (like me), ran out of money to keep them going.
I loved mine, spent heaps on extras from US, but the dealer maintenance costs finally got the better of me.
