Amusingly pretty much identical to the one my family member purchased, even down to the color.
Frankly I am fairly surprised that Mazda is still offering big discounts despite the tight supply around new cars in general.
What was it that swing your decision that way in the end, compared to the outback and whatever else was on your shortlist? Pricing? or something else?
Despite the GSX spec being fairly the 2nd lowest, it is fairly well kitted with stuff like LED headlights, LED fog lamps, LED tail lamps, auto dimming rear mirror, parking sensors, Traffic sign reading, windscreen projected HUD etc.
Lots of brands you need to go to the top spec to get much of that stuff, Family also have a top spec car from a korean brand. Despite being top spec, no traffic sign reading on that, and the HUD is from a dash mounted bit of glass / plastic not the windscreen.
Personally I am a fan of decent tire sidewall's as a selling point, so I like that trim has "only" 17" wheels and 65 profile tires.
It's a conventional 6 speed auto (rather than CVT) too which is getting less common.
The privacy shade over the boot being clipped to the tailgate is quite clever I thought.
Be mindful of the low maximum ball force for towing. Don't want to overload that. Recommend you check your trailer, and move the load back if required.
I'm sure you will enjoy the fuel savings, and modern tech vs your highlander.

Very nice. Just as a word of caution, there was a poster who used to post on here who had exactly that colour as well and had some problems with the paint chipping. I recall Mazda repaired it under warranty. I only mention it as something for you to be aware of, not a criticism. Happy motoring.

Was no single factor that swung my decision, price and available now where big pluses. That as a new customer I could ask for and get a fair discount was a strong plus, especially as supply of new cars is going to get very tight over the rest of this year. Having to wait four to six months for ordered car to arrive on their lot was a loss to those dealerships. Last factor was the attitude of the sales team, very welcoming and neither pushy nor snooty. Both Kia and Toyota staff here in Taupō need re-education lessons on.
