Bit dumb when any communication could be a customer. A few businesses have lost potential custom from myself and Hubby by not replying to emails.

Have left meassages on phone , messanger and email .They just about to get a visit and see whats up . I bought written off 2002 bmw 650gs Mals , just a little project like . Plan to fit a Yamaha yzf450 front end ( the 1 i dropped off like ) fit a longer shock linkage and a few other details and should be good to go . This is what it looks like when a well documented bmw fork problem lets go .Some unfortunate woman was on it at the time . Tuck duck and roll . https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1495468167.jpg

All good , they just very busy preparing Sound of Thunder Motorcycles for the racing . The down side of being good at your work and earning a reputation i guess . Still waiting on spacer for the steering stem to arrive at this stage , then there's brake lines and cables that may need to be longer etc .

Later on that years model they added more meat around the axle location . No recall but they can sell you another leg for $1300 odd . Bloody poor show from BMW i reckon , a lot of riders have been hurt . Their must also be lots of owners oblivious to the potentially life threatening design flaw . Lots of those bikes are still on the road . I only found out about the fork issue through reading forums , before placing a bid . Ratel engineering design , make some very nice parts to make fork conversions easier .

I hope a touch of gold at the front will blend in with the yellow seat . Did bmw owners ask for yellow seats or something . A black vivid could maybe sort that , so it can match the rest of the bike like . A yzf250 front end would fit also , just happened to be the 450 front end in Chch the same time i was heading over to pick up the f800st from certification . Make the most of the big smoke shopping while im there .

Hell that's a worry or nightmare fork axle mounts breaking off. Just shouldn't happen! . If it happened in the States BMW would get the pants sued off them,
That's only 3 links of the many if you search 2002 bmw f650 gs fork failures .Even the larger boxer engine model were not immune . there was a safety recall on some for a different problem . BMW New Zealand are just wholesalers so not their problem . Was surprised at the lack of parts available from agents , anything more than oil and spark plugs will no doubt have to be sent from Auckland .

Cripes ! disastrous,Ive never seen the likes of that before and BMW especially renowned for quality. What did Linton have to say ? keeping it short lol .Don't they test stuff for composition, strengths , malleability etc ,before they mass produce it nowdays.

They are the most communicative .Also they are always busy so some people will of course miss out .! DAS have long established reputation for great work and an excellent customer base ,so I doubt they will ever suffer lack of business concerning emails.

I never really discussed the buggered fork , its a busy shop . I just said what i wanted done and told him what they were going on . It may have been on Adventure rider that i came across a article that his name was mention in it . It just happened to be another YZ to F650 fork conversion . Only came across that read a couple of weeks after dropping the forks off . I should be able to sell the left leg and the stanchions to some1 in need no doubt .
