I am looking to buy a dash cam but not sure what is a good brand and what to stay away from. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA

Blackvue is one of the better high end brands.
Really comes down to how much money you want to spend and what features you want (ability to run parking mode, GPS for speed & location, Frount, cabin , and rear camera's), and how much you are willing to pay for better image quality.
Tesla now builds the ability to record from frount, rear and side camera's from the factory. I imagine more brands will adopt with this approach.
This the company we've been using for our fleet, about 5K installed 4G all data archived to the cloud in real time, 4K quality.

I am really happy with my Viofo a129, the 119 models are well regarded as well
