There will be some gutted people around who were planning on getting one of the last 200 series. v8 diesel engine is going to be discontinued with the 300 series.

They will be like the GR-Yaris. Able to be driven for a few months and resold for more than they paid from the dealer.

I think you are correct. Untill the 300 series is released they will have command a high price as a near new vehicle on the used market.
When the 300 series is released the value of the near new 200 series could shoot up or down depending on the 300 series specs and how it is received.
The Lexus equivalent is still being advertised although spec is a little different.
The LX 450d is offered as a 5 seater only. Need to step up to the 270kW LX570 to get the 8 seater.
That said, For those buying it as a tow vehicle or similar, getting rid of the third row might be desirable to give more cargo space & save weight.
And if one is happy to forgo the luxury, and shift gears themselves the 70 series is still being advertised. - no idea if it will be getting an engine change to match the 300 series.
