Does this look correct to you?

Yeah that's totally off. There's no way it's only 18 degrees outside.

cjohnw, Feb 23, 2:47am
At 8.35am this morning. Currently bloody 31. Lol.

toyboy3, Feb 23, 3:37am
No mention of the colour of the car, how can we give advice?

apollo11, Feb 23, 3:38am
We've got everyone huddled in the room with the air conditioner, bring on winter.

cjohnw, Feb 23, 3:40am
Oh crap, of course, how stupid of me should have remembered.
BLUE!
Those km’s do not seem correct at that l/100, or are my maths crap as usual?
Or maybe a computer failure?

cjohnw, Feb 23, 3:41am
Amen to that.

skull, Feb 23, 4:01am
At the figures given you will be 56km short of the estimated mileage. I never trust the estimated mileage completely anyway, if I'm out of town come 1/4 tank left I'm looking for the next service station.

cjohnw, Feb 23, 4:08am
So is that more like 12l/100?
How did you work that out?
Cheers.

vtecintegra, Feb 23, 4:11am
They aren't supposed to match.

The l/100km number is the average since trip A was reset, the distance to empty is calculated over a much shorter distance (in most cars at least)

cjohnw, Feb 23, 4:19am
Ahhh Ok, so two seperate things.
the car supposedly is averaging 8.4l/100 and a full tank should take it 770km to empty?
Maths was never my strong area!

skull, Feb 23, 4:26am
8.4 litres per 100km means you will use 7.7 times 8.4 to do your 770km which is 64.68 litres. That's 4.68 litres more than your tank holds and that missing 4.68 litres would have moved you 56km.

Thanks mate.

Reserve seems to be 5 litres in most cars I have owned.

Though the computers can be off because of high economy fuel use when hot on a open road.
Or I sat there idling after starting the car up from cold, facing downhill a bit.
